About JGD Media Group

We ask readers. Then we listen.

JGD Media Group is an independent media company in North Vancouver. We build publications and free tools that millions of people use each month, and we run them on reader data and our own AI systems.

Most lifestyle media is built on opinion. An editor decides what’s beautiful, a trend report decides what’s next, and the reader is told what to like. We think that’s backwards.

At JGD Media Group, the reader is the source. When someone hearts a kitchen, skips a sofa, votes between two outfits or answers a quick poll, that’s a real person telling us what they want, often in the middle of a real decision. Multiply that by hundreds of thousands of reactions and you get something rare: an honest picture of taste.

So that’s what we build. Our flagship sites, Home Stratosphere and ThreadCurve, look like great magazines. Underneath, they’re custom data platforms. Every image is tagged by style, colour, material, shape and era. Every reaction is counted against those tags. The results flow straight back into the articles, the newsletters and the reports we make for brands.

Readers don’t need another opinion. They need to know what thousands of people like them actually chose.

Two audiences, one honest dataset

For readers, that means advice you can trust. A Home Stratosphere article doesn’t just say white oak is popular; it can tell you how often readers picked it over walnut. ThreadCurve doesn’t guess what women over 40 want to wear; it shows the cuts and colours they voted for. Findings appear right inside the stories, in plain language.

For brands, it means first-party preference data from people who are actively planning a project or a purchase. Not a panel paid to fill in a survey. We publish Preference Index reports with sample sizes on every chart and grey cells where the data is still thin, because a number you can’t trust is worse than no number. We also run topic-targeted placements, so a paint brand appears beside the rooms it belongs in and is measured with our own click and engagement data.

How we work

Real editors. Serious systems.

Our writers and editors do the writing. Workflows we built ourselves run everything around it.

01Useful before anything else

Every article, tool and newsletter has to solve a real problem: size a rug, pick a paint, find a weekend plan, transpose a part for band practice.

02Measured, not assumed

We track what readers do, not just what they click. Reactions, polls, saves, dwell time and revenue all feed one system that learns every day.

03AI workflows, human writing

A team of writers and editors creates our content. AI runs the workflows around it: reader-data analysis, reporting, scheduling and email, plus lead-generation media buying for Dykstra AI and Burrard Bulletin.

The portfolio

What we publish

Two data-driven flagships, a local newsletter for the place we call home, two free tool sites and an AI services company that sells the playbook we use ourselves.

  • 2025Jon rebuilds the company’s operations around AI workflows: reader-data analysis, reporting, email and lead generation. The writing stays with a team of writers and editors. ThreadCurve, Burrard Bulletin, Transposeify and Nestique grow on the same foundation.
  • TodayReader data drives the flagships, and Dykstra AI brings the same AI workflows and lead generation to other businesses.

Between the mountains and the inlet.

We’re based in North Vancouver, where the Coast Mountains meet Burrard Inlet. It shapes how we work.

Built to lastLike the cedars up the Seymour trail: slow growth, deep roots, and still standing when the weather turns.
